I got myself a laptop today.
I feel bad for the guy who sold it to us. He had to go through the frugality of my parents and their bajillion questions about every dollar they had to pay. When they didn't believe that they should pay for the Microsoft programs because the laptop "should" have it, they called like all of their friends who bought laptops to ask if theirs came with the programs. u_u
It was funny to watch, but oh god. When my mum discovered that there was a disposal tax of 8 bucks on anything with a screen, she instantly asked about it. She didn't believe there was such a law. It's a fairly new law of 2 years, but she didn't want to believe it because she didn't want to pay. :B
Mom: I bought a stove within the past two years. I didn't see this tax.
Salesman: Does your stove have a tv in it? I don't think so.
Mom: I've still never heard of this tax. I'm going to ask the government.
Salesman: Ask the governor then.
Mom: I will.
Clearly the man was getting annoyed. I honestly would have too.
Then my dad tried to use this AAA Visa card because he gets some discount. The machine said it was inactive and that he should renew it, but my dad said he uses it to buy gas all of the time. He made the man try it like 7 times and my dad finally switched credit cards.
And so we got the laptop with absolutely nothing. No programs. [
So if anyone who lives near me reads this and has the Microsoft Office program and is willing to let me install it onto my computer, tell me please. Pretty please? :D With a cherry on top okay? <3 ] No bag. No mouse even though I hate touchpad things. Yup. They said they'd wait for the things to go on sale, even though well, this is the back to school sale. Whatever.
But wait. When we drove home, my dad had to stop at gas station to use his AAA Visa credit card just to prove that the salesman was wrong.
Oh but the salesman was right. Inactive.
Boy that took forever.
I'll write about Canada later. When I'm less lazy.
