Entries for August, 2006

I think my mum hates seeing me home all alone during the summer with absolutely nothing to do as much as I hate myself for having absolutely nothing to do. As if I could do anything anyway considering my dad completely freaked out when he called home one day and I didn't pick up.

Wellll, because my mum hated it so much, she looked through some Vietnamese newspaper and found a job that could possibly be well suited for me. The ad said in Vietnamese that they wanted a girl who knew how to speak English and use the Computer. Perfect for me right? And the "warehouse" was also in Temple City. Even better. Who would have thought that there would actually be a warehouse in my little ol' bridal shop town. Since my mum insisted that I find something to spend my time on, she made me call the place today to ask about the position and see if I actually had to speak Vietnamese, because god knows I can't.

Anywho, I called. It sounded okay at first, but as it turns out, I would be packaging pornos. icon_sad.gif

So I was out watching the Gilmore Girls with Karen when this really annoying commercial comes on with people dancing outdoors by what looks like a Fastfood place. Wienerschnitzel to be exact because towards the end, I noticed red and yellow stripes and a giant chili cheese dog. Then I wondered, What possessed Wienerschnitzel to create such an annoying commercial with the terrible music.

Well. It was Old Navy's commercial.

I should've been able to guess. Only Old Navy plays such awful music with people dancing around on their commercials.

Why does Old Navy make such annoying commercials?

I went to this association thing as I do every year to get my scholarship thing. Now normally I leave a little while after I receive my award, but since this year, the ceremony was shorter because this year had the least amount of scholars, I decided to stay.

Now I don't know whether that was a good idea or not because since there was extra time, the host man decided to randomly call up some college scholars from the list to give encouraging and motivational speeches to the rest of the kids to pretty much continue excelling and stuff. I thought it was rather funny he was picking on the students like that.

He later ran out of college kids and I thought it was over, but no, he continued with the 12th grader. I swear my heart leaped out of my chest when he said 12th grade because for some reason, I ended up on the very top of the 12th grade list and I don't know why. If anything, I was the last one to turn in my membership, and it's not like it's in alphabetical order or anything.

I hoped that my name wouldn't get called but just my luck, I was randomly chosen to give a speech. I should've left like I normally did, but I was kind and stayed. And since I didn't want to disappoint the elder men sponsoring the scholarship, I went up and made an ass of myself. I can tell ya, the audience laughed a lot at what I said, or lack thereof.

Sponsor: She didn't say a lot, but she sure meant a lot.

Very funny.

But because of my ass of a performance, I do believe that I'm going to end up in some newspaper tomorrow. Hooray.

Every day in the morning when you go out driving, you'll see some asian woman or something walking or exercising with one of these sun visors on. Now I don't know about you, but these ridiculous looking visors are sweeping the nation. I specifically remember Mrs. Marquardt making a comment about these visors as well. She said that people look like giant bugs when they wear 'em while driving.

  :D

Anywho, today when I woke up, I decided to wash some clothes and hang 'em up to dry since it's a really sunny day and some people just like that fresh sun dried ozone-y smell. I'm not saying that I like the smell or anything, but we don't have a dryer because my mum says it wastes too much gas. Whatever.

So since I didn't want my face to burn or become like chocolate, I decided to wear the ugly solar visor thing my parents got at this one Chinese fair (how typical) from Volvo. And believe it or not, they actually work. At that moment, I actually felt a little bad for constantly teasing my mum for wearing the thing out all of the time. Key word: a little. They're just so tacky. They look like weilding masks. But I guess since they work, people will wear them.

I swear the visors are just like Crocs (one of the ugliest shoes I have ever seen in my life, yet again, extremely popular).

You must sacrifice appearance for comfort. *_____*

ummm

i got yelled at for not washing my ice cubes today.

Okay I've been on and off listening to the radio for once today, and I'm getting hella tired of the song Dance, Dance from Fall Out Boy. >:0 I liked the song when it wasn't radio-ized, but omg, I've heard the song six times on the radio already. Doesn't the radio have anything different to play?

I remember wishing that I had more phone calls on my cell phone a while ago since I mean, we all know that my cell phone is completely useless. True my parents pay my bill each month for what, 3 minutes of usage? I mean anyone knows that if they wanted to get in contact with me, they should just call my house or find me online through some lame free service like AIM or MySpace (how pathetic), and not call the cell because I never pick up. That's possibly because I'm so sure I won't get called on it that I don't even pay attention to the ringing.

Anywho, I had trouble sleeping in the morning today. It could be that I was getting sick off of miss sicko Karen since we do share the same room. It was just hot and cold at the same time >:0, so I sorta woke up at 6 A.M (can anyone believe that?). Anywho, just a few minutes later, I imagined that my cell phone was ringing because it's just so hard to believe that anyone would be calling me, and especially at 6 o' clock in the morning. It was such an early phone call that even TMobile considered it part of their free nighttime plan. I mean come on, who wakes up that early. So I crawled outta bed to pick up thinking it was my momma calling to check up on sicko sicko Karen.

BUT NOOOO. There was another idiot, (that we all know and love), on the other end of the phone line. He apparently forgot there was a Daylight Saving's Time and time differences. Who could forget that? Oh Karl can. But he called to say bye because he was going back to China, and because of that, I forgive him for calling me hecka early. :B

So. I haven't used my regular PC in a while. It's probably because I realized how much better my laptop is and I've completely abandoned my PC. My laptop screen doesn't flicker on the top when I'm playing a lame Gaia game like fishing. My laptop doesn't bluescreen me a few times each day. My laptop actually has real Windows software and can receive updates. These little annoyances have led me to prefer my laptop to my PC anyday.

But that is sad. I'll be stuck with this laptop all though my college days, and I won't be using my crappy ol' PC with an extremely large monitor and awesome speakers. These are my last days with that PC and I've neglected it.

I think I'll drag my Ethernet cord back into the room and use my PC again tomorrow. Yes. I will do that.

Sooooooooo I got a good feel of how registering for class feels like. It sucks. Plain and simple. Especially if you're like poor unlucky me and gets a late registration time. mmhm

I spent a good hour trying to get my schedule to work, and each time it didn't, I would have to log out and search for a class that might work and log back in to try it out. How annoying was that. The stupid search for class button simply didn't work when I was logged in. Dumb site. :[ And they call registering online easy. Whhhhhatever.

I must have said to myself, "Okay this will have to work" like ten times to only find out that it didn't work. So sad.

And oh, as it turns out, I have to learn to run to class like 4 times a week. How is 10 minutes enough to go so far. It already looks mighty far on the tiny little map, so imagine how it'll be for a person with short legs because she is herself rather short. At least you know I can't get fat now. :[

Dentist today. My mum has been on a dentist hunt for quiteee a while ever since we left our good one in Hollywood because Hollywood is just too far now.

We've been going to random dentists hoping that they were good, but they weren't. We finally found one for me to go to today though :B. I got both good and bad news, but I can blame the bad one on those crappy dentists in between my Hollywood one and new one. :B

Now because those stupid dentists in the middle didn't want to do the whole tartar gum scraping thing, my gums are crappy around a couple of teeth. See now if my gums have issues, my entire familyyyyy has gum issues because I have the best teeth. The previous dentists never found any issues, but then again, those were the crappy ones we only went once to and never back again. :[[[

Anywho, and for the good news.

I have zero cavities. Yayy.

And here's something to make everyone jealous.

I will never ever ever ever never get wisdom teeth. :0000

My mom, she gave me a nickel. She told me to buy a pickle, but I didn't buy no pickle. Instead I bought some bubblegum. Bazooka, zooka bubble gum. Bazooka, zooka bubble gum.

Normally I'd find this kind of commercial annoying and their song to be even annoyinger, but I don't. I find it absolutely hilarious. I even went to the site to hear the Bazooka Joe bubblegum song. o_o; Am I the only nut who did that?

For more oddities, I did it again. I did a 180 in bed while sleeping. I don't mean to or anything because it's kinda weird, but I've been flipping to the opposite  side of the bed while sleeping recently. It might be that I wake up sometimes in the middle of the night to pee or something, but I didn't last night because I was so pooped.

I asked Karen if I had kicked her in the middle of the night from my flip, but I didn't. o_o; I should get a camera.

I think my dad finally realizes that I'm going to be gone. He actually called me baby today, and I don't think he has ever done that my entire life. And today when we went to Chinatown to go see his dad in the hospital, he willingly gave me money to walk around Chinatown and buy stuff. I didn't even have to ask. :0 But of course I didn't buy anything. I just walked around under the hot sun looking at all of the tourists taking pictures of the dirty icky Los Angeles Chinatown and of a moldy fountain. I mean, it's not like I didn't give an effort to find something to buy, but seriously, I literally walked around a closed Chinatown. It was 11:30 in the morning and all of the stores were closed. Don't they want to earn money from a prospective buyer like me?

Anywho, my dad called my mum later on and my mum suggested that I go to her work (possibly to show me off and that the supervisor wasn't there so I could play arond there), but like my dad came up with all of these reasons for me not to go. There was the keys issue. And the fact that I hadn't eaten, when I could just go down to Central Market by my mum's work and find something. And there was the fact I'd have to take a bus home with my mum. And that I wouldn't have money to go on the bus. And that I would be bored there at her work. And that I wouldn't be able to practice my freeway driving skills. blah blah blah.

I went to my mum's work anyway. Sorry daddy, but I would've been bored anywhere I went. At least I get to suck up the ac at my mum's place.
Welllll, I met all of my mum's coworkers and spent a while listening to everyone tell me how big I've gotten and how much my mum talks about me. I tell ya, there was a laugh after every sentence they said to me. And that student worker had a good laugh at me bouncing around on this one chair trying to get it to go down. They were all nice though.   They all came over to talk to me, probably because they didn't want to work, but oh well. They gave me food and stuff to read. Not good stuff by way. :0

Anywho, I'm tired.
